New Teen in Town

Dan and I are entering a new season of parenting. Our oldest daughter is now a teen! We are hopeful and happy to be her parents.

Recently we realized why so many people have told us that this is the time to become more involved in her life, not less. We are praying and planning to enjoy her more than ever. But her dad and I practice saying "no, Sweetie, you can't do that" when she is not looking.

The Repeat Cycle

All shampoo bottles instruct us to lather, rinse and then repeat. But this cycle is nothing short of frustrating to a Christian who is trying to make a clean break from their addictions or family's sins and habits.

Making a clean break involves the cleansing process that the Lord offers but ends with a drastic change of some kind. To repent- or change your mind- will change your life.

When we receive deliverance in the Spirit and then try to skip the repentance part, we will easily find ourselves in the repeat cycle.

How to Bless the Next Generation was inspired by the loss of my dear Grandmother Delchamps.

Currently, I am learning about repentance. This concept has always been a mystery to me. How can we show God or others how sorry we are? How can we regain their trust once we have hurt them? The Lord has been teaching me about Godly sorrow leading to repentance. Repentance means to change your mind. When we change our mind, we start to change our thoughts, our attitudes and our actions.

Let's leave sin and excuses behind.

Selecting a Devotional

Devotionals are the best way to jumpstart our devoted time with the Lord. We need to be careful to focus on devotionals that are filled with God's Word. His Word will fill us and sustain us much longer than someone's opinion or even their powerful testimony. The writers that we endorse are students and teachers of God's Word. Their desire is to empower you by handing you the Sword of the Spirit.
